A taxi worker who fell asleep on the job says his life has been made a misery after prankster colleagues filmed him and put it on the Internet.
The video, which shows Liam Garnham being woken by an airhorn, has become a hit on video sharing site You Tube.

More than 300 people have logged on to see the 20-year-old dozing at his desk and then jumping when an airhorn is blasted at him for a second time.

The dad-of-one, who works as a controller for Pennywell and Hylton Taxis, said: "It's causing me a lot of hassle and is really embarrassing. It's got to the point where people are ringing me up with prank calls.

"Making videos on people has become a craze, but people don't realise how much it hurts. They think it's a laugh, but they are not the ones who have to change their telephone number."

The video, filmed on a mobile phone, has been on the web for just over a week.

The page also includes comments made by people who have viewed the video.

Liam, of Ryhope, Sunderland, who is dad to two-year-old Courtney, says he is worried the posting will prove a security risk.

But he says that the administrators of the site said they couldn't do anything about it.

"I didn't think anything of it at first. I suffer from insomnia and had fallen asleep at about four in the morning when it was quiet, but I would still have heard the phone.

"They ran in and woke me up with the airhorn and then ran out. The next day there was a copy of the Echo on my desk with a hand-written headline, so I guessed what had happened.

"Now I have phone calls from people pretending to be the BBC. It's just getting out of hand."

He added: "I think it's really bad that people can put anything they like on the Internet. I just want the people involved to say sorry."
